I love the "His Dark Materials" trilogy by Philip Pullman. "The Amber Spyglass" is the third and final instalment which is an exquisitely written bit of childrens literature that is written on so many levels that there is something for everybody.

I'd love to be considered for this contest. As for a favourite book, it is so hard to pick just one, and I guess it also depends on what audience you are looking for. Two fictional adult favourite are The Time Traveller's Wife and A Fine Balance. As for children's books, there are so many wonderful classics, but a newfavourite is Ish by Peter Renolds. Wonderful message.

This morning my favorite book (a young adult book) is Juniper by Monica Furlong (with her book Wise Child neck and neck with it). Even as a grandmother, I read them again and again.
I have been looking at Lala shoes on etsy for some time now--wishing that I could have my very own pair of Lala violet felt shoes.

So hard to choose, and such fun thinking through the list! Right now my favorite books are from the "Miss Read" series, by Dora Saint. Reading about English village life is soothing and heartwarming, and the voice of the narrator is remarkably funny and crisp. Love them.

For my kids I love The Important Book by Margaret Wise Brown and In the Night Kitchen my Maurice Sendak. And for me I love anything by Nabokov and The Hisory of Love by Nicole Krauss is pretty lovely.
