I told you yesterday I would show you some more wonderful ideas for desiging a childs bedroom. These rooms are all designed by Ciel Architects from Paris, a fairly young agency, but already done some really amazing projects, mainly in France of course ... Sandra Courtine is responsibaly for most of the kids' rooms and I wish she could come over to my house and make something special too for my boys. I love love love these build-in cabinets, shelves and drawers make life so much easier and saves so much space...
Image above is the Vroum-room, below you see an impression of a 'girly-teen' room and below a loft style room... which one is your favorite?
I love seeing kids rooms like these... a little house in a house where two kids can sleep, play and organise their own things in an easy way. And yes I love chipwood!!! This very cheap material is so decorative, leaving it with just one layer of laquer or paint it in any color you like.
French architect Sandra Courtine from Ciel archtiects from France designed and made this beautiful 'duplex'.... and I 'm happy to show you some other great projects by Ciel archtiects tomorrow I will show you some other great projects they have done for kids rooms....more images >>
Teri calls her new project a simple afternoon activity and I agree with her :) ... making these super happy paper eye-glasses or “fun-glasses” with kids will bring lots of laughter to a ordinary afternoon. Click here to see how Teri made them and what you need for material....

Yesterday I opended this online shop thinking of a garage sale but than an online one...
It is time for my family and me to move house again and I thought selling my goodies and collectables online would make more sense than bringing them along in carton boxes...
All the products you find in my shop originate from previous entrepreneurial endeavors... I once had my own stationery collection, selling at BARNEYS New York and Selfridges & Co in London, designed a baby shoe collection that was sold in many shops in the Netherlands, almost started a knitting shop in Toronto, but had to move on again... and all the other goodies are small collections I bought during my travels in Asia…
Hope you like my goodies!

"Small ideas, big effects"
I love funny accessories in the kidsroom that makes a child's room unique. Like the photo circulating around the Internet of the Ikea spice rack which is used often in children's bedrooms as a bookshelf. Whether the additional decorative edge that you can sew yourself on the bottom of the Ikea curtains (idea of the New House Project) mentioned earlier on Bkids.
I like to use small wall stickers, like these apple stickers (available at HikjeinHuis) on furniture and those small suitcases. It makes an old vintage suitcase more modern a new suitcase more personal. The secret of an original children's room is to add genuine ideas and extraordinarily accessories.
With a specific theme in mind you gather stuff to decorate the kidsroom. For example, embroidery. For my own daughter, Jula, I went looking for embroidered items for her bedroom. I found a great embroidered strip and fixed it to the wall above the dresser (see top image). Another good idea for the girl's bedroom is to use old embroidery patterns as a wallpaper, which I saw in a shop in Amsterdam. The embroidered bag we brought from Thailand (see picture below).
