Etoile et Moi

If I would have girls I would buy the whole collection from étoile et moi. I just love everything about it. The colors, materials and patterns. Easy to wear and very comfortable but with a very stylish and modern touch. The clothes are made here in Malaysia by a French friend of mine. Her name is Katell and I admire her for setting up her own brand and being more successful every year!

Maiike and Donna

Just a couple of days before our trip to Langkawi I found these images of the Maiike shop in Melbourne. I have written about the label Maiike before but never realised there is also an actual shop run by two sister in law: Feride & Aly Peel I just love the relaxed, homy and personal style and thought you like to see these images too.

The patchwork blankets are simply gorgoeus, don't you agree? Inspires me to make one myself too, but perhaps better to buy one at Maiike's so you are guaranteed it will be in your home one day :) often when I start a project like this... i never finnish it...

YEAHHH I feel so MUCH better... after a wonderful of relaxing, sightseeing and adventurous tours on the beautiful island of Langkawi I feel like re-born... thank you lovelies for all the sweet comments and emails, they mean a lot to me!

The collage above gives a small impression of the wild-life we saw last week while taking a boat-tour in Langkawi, you can understand how excited we all were being able seeing these special animals in the wild... not behind bars but observing us while passing through... I know this has nothing to do with design for kids but a whole lot to do with kids and teaching them about our planet... hoe you don't mind me showing this today!

Dear Readers,

Yes this is me today... and yes you are right I look a little bit stressed... perhaps it has to do with me moving house again in two weeks time, having family members over from the Netherlands and my boys at home from school... so perhaps it is wise to take a bit of 'down-time' this week ... no work but just enjoy being together with my family and prepare ourselves for another move... hope you understand and forgive me for not sharing any posts with you this week.

Color Palette: Wood

 

Already a little while ago since I posted my last color palette. I love creating them, but just hadn't had the time to make a new one until today. I choose the color wood... if that is a color? Well I guess you understand what I mean :)

Cirkus and Vi Foraeldre

Jippieeeee... our first media coverage in print for BKids Wear Neon... I was thrilled this morning to find my sweet boy, Kiet together with one of our little fish necklaces in the latest issue of Vi Foraeldre from Denmark.... and this all due to the wonderful Filipa Asved who contacted me. Filipa Asved is a stylist for Vi Foraeldra and authors the wonderful blog Cirkus. I am super thankful to her!!!!

Vi Foraeldre is of course completely written in Danish... not very easy for me to understand but the there were plenty of links and urls that I liked. The website is also absolute worth visiting, the images are beautiful and will bring you to nice (mostly) Scandinavian links!

This is a place in Barcelona, Spain that gives me inspiration... hoping one day I can open something similair here in Malaysia too. Alicia from Duduá told me about Costura, a space for learning to sew and to buy unique fabrics and craft supplies from all around the world.
