People who know me very well know that I love to embroider and when discovering sublime stitching it brought me to a whole new embroider-world! A huge variety of funky patterns, embroider-stationery, bibs and journals .... everything is possible at Sublime Stitching ... the creative mind behind this cool label is  artist Jenny Hart from Austin, Texas. Jenny founded Sublime Stitching in 2001 after being unable to find alternative designs for embroidery that appealed to her, therefore Jenny decided to make them herself... and she succeeded very well ...

Just before I gave birth to our new son kiet, the new Rosie Flo's colouring book appeared in our mail box and again Roz Streeten, the super talented women behind these awesome colouring books, has done a fantastic job! It's music time in the new book ... your children just have to fantasize, finish and colour in the beautiful illustrations...i used some images from Book-by-its-cover for this post because I know Julia is just a big of a fan of as I am of  the Rosie Flo's book and I just wanted to show the boy's version from the collection, Johnny Joe's time travel, Lode would love the knights and pirates in this colouring book.

My little boy is still a bit to young to understand what a painting is and of course to be patient enough to create something as beautiful as the two boys in the images have done .. but as soon as he is old enough I will remember this post and us the very useful  information from Martha's journal on how to "teach" your child (and myself) about art ... Sally from the gorgeous blog ShimsandSons introduced me to the tutorial and perhaps some of you have already seen it .. i still would like to show it on B:Kids and spread the word about this excellent post, Thanks Martha!

Half-Werk... means 'half-job', meaning the product is almost finished, but you have to do some crafting yourself as well ... and I like to start this new week with exactly a product like this, because I did so much crafting myself during the weekend...(made some pillows, if you would like to see them you have to go to Bloesem were I will be showing them later on today)...the Half Werk product is a skirt/apron for little girls and it comes in a DIY kit, consisting of printed materials which invite you to make or decorate the skirt yourself...this fantastic product is developed and designed by a Dutch women, Margot Westermann and I truly love what she is showing us on her website and hope there will be more half-werk products in the future!

Swallowfield...Jennifer sent me this great image from her daughters bedroom. For you who don't now Jennifer..she is a great mixed-media artist also known under the name Swallowfield. A little while ago Jennifer  made a commissioned collage piece, which her 8 year old daughter became quite attached to, and she was very sad to see it get mailed to its rightful owner, so after some searching around Jennifer ordered a 4'x3' vinyl cling of the digital file through Wallhogs and could easily install it on the wall. Such a great idea to use an image from yourself or a piece of art made by your children, let Wallhogs print it for you and you can fill up a large space with not a large budget.
