A letter in my inbox brought me to the graphics from WAT I E T S ... and I LOVE them, such a lovely idea to translate wooden play blocks into beautiful graphic patterns. Their color choice make them even more special ...

WAT I E T S is a collaboration of two Dutch freelance designers... Chris van Middendorp and Sarah Pieterse... with a similar vision. They try to maintain their curious mind and translate their wonders into designs.

Guest Post: Patterns to sew your own

   Basique pour les 2 a 6 ans

I love to sew, but it has to be VERY simple. Any crazy inserts or folds and my mind starts going blank. This is why I have fallen for this French pattern book Basique pour les 2 à 6 ans. Simple tunics, tops and skirts, easy to sew but, which is the crucial part, they look lovely when they are being worn. There is even a blog on which all the creative ladies who have made clothes based on the patterns from: Basique pour les 2 à 6 ans, post their creations, with ideas and tips on how they did it. Now the book is in French, but the illustrations and the patterns are so simple, it is pretty easy to decipher, even if your French is a little rusty. ~ Emilie

Monday's quick start: FaBRiKo

Fabrikoo

I would like to start this week with FaBRiKo. Lisa Ericksson, a Swedish graphic designer and mum, based in Stockholm and in Paris founded a this beautiful new label. After having giving bith to her son Wilmer the idea of her own company started to grow. With little experience of running a business, but with a great passion for designing patterns she decided to start a brand for kids interior design. Quite scary she says, but after a lot of hard work FABRiKO was finally born!

Fabriko

Lise likes the thought of design for kids that also their parents enjoy having in their home. So the idea behind FABRiKO was simply to create something for kids that´s fun, creative and playful without being too traditional or too cute. The colours and patterns are unisex and can be         <<<Read More>>>

Danielle started the new year with featuring Harvest Textiles from Australia and i was imedealty drawn to their beautiful collection for kids. Perhaps my favorites are the little leggins... love the patterns!
