Monday's quick start: bobbi ravioli

I admire women who start their own business ... so it is with great pleasure that I am showing you a new label  ... bobbi ravioli from the Netherlands ...  brainchild of a former college friend of mine ... Eliette and I met during our university years in Amsterdam and I'm truly not surprised she has left the corporate world and started her own label ... Eliette always had a powerful energy and enthusiasm that was contagious and motiviating to all of us.... and I believe this shines through in her first collection!

I am wishing her a world of success and I hope you like these fun, basic and easy to wear dresses just as much as I do ... I have chosen the dark blue collection today simply because I believe you can never go wrong with it.

Guest Post: Patterns to sew your own

  

I love to sew, but it has to be VERY simple. Any crazy inserts or folds and my mind starts going blank. This is why I have fallen for this French pattern book Basique pour les 2 à 6 ans. Simple tunics, tops and skirts, easy to sew but, which is the crucial part, they look lovely when they are being worn. There is even a blog on which all the creative ladies who have made clothes based on the patterns from: Basique pour les 2 à 6 ans, post their creations, with ideas and tips on how they did it. Now the book is in French, but the illustrations and the patterns are so simple, it is pretty easy to decipher, even if your French is a little rusty. ~ Emilie

Guest Post: Moccasins

I stumbled upon these gorgeous handmade moccasins from Becky Brisco last month and just couldn't resist buying a pair for our new baby (due any day now!). This is our fourth baby, and of course by now I don't need to buy anything new... except, of course, for a pair of super cosy shearling moccasins to keep the baby's toes toasty warm this winter! The moccasins just arrived in the post, and I can attest that they are just as beautiful in person.
