What to Wear Today... Tumble 'n dry

 

While I was in the Netherlands I did some serious shopping for my boys...labels that are hard to find here in Asia and that I really like, for example Tumble 'n Dry ... one of Holland's quickest growing childrenswear brands.

It might have been these fantastic campaign visuals that made me love the brand. Like the campaign explains...Kids clothes should be about being comfortable, long lasting and let you be able to do all sorts of activities...how I wish I could be in a warehouse like that with Lode and Kiet and start painting a long...

What to wear today... edgy graphics

It’s a pity they stopped designing garments, because the style of the two founders of Danish LUCKYBOYSUNDAY, both named Camilla, is edgy and stylish! Their photo styling makes me drool! Their sense of graphic and color is magnificent and so fashionable…

I cannot say so much, but rather show you a lot of images…
At the moment their collections contains dolls, pillows, blankets, mobiles and other kids stuff.
Next month a lot of of their products, like Balthazar, will be available at BB+++’s webshop.
The images beneath show their first collection which contains garments too. Personally I love the sparkling cardigan…and the black & white striped leggings! They are so humorous too!

Australian Summer is “old school”

If you asked me what I love about fashion, especially children's fashion I would say it is the revamp of old trends. I love seeing how colours and styles come back from when I was a child.

If only I had kept some of the cool clothes my mum had me in. Although I am not sure if she understood you do not put socks with sandals!

My favourite piece of clothing as a little girl was my knickerbockers. Do you remember them? I wore them all the time, and I would also wear them with tights underneath throughout winter. I had it going on as a 7 year old! This summer in Australia sees the revamp of the knickerbockers. They are not only coming as pants they are being made in playsuits (overalls). The colours you will see are grey, pastels, and the classic black. There are a few bold colours coming, and the revamp of the tie dye tee shirt and bike pants. Oh yes, the bike pants are back!

Summer ranges are just starting to hit stores in Australia, from now until September. It is exciting as this summer is the best I have seen!

New Fashion Editor for BKids

Please give a big welcome to my online friend and hip mama Hayley Blease from Australia, who is a new fashion editor for the What to Wear column here on BKids. This gorgeous lady runs the fashion shop and blog .little pinwheel. And writes down her experiences as a (recently) single mom on her personal blog, the trousse...

What to Wear today...haute couture for kids by Philip Lim

Haute couture for kids... An American designer who inspires my work definitely is Philip Lim. Lim debuted in 2005, just like BB+++ did and introduced his pint size version of his signature woman’s collection in 2007. What I like in his designing is the thoughtful effortless and imperfection. The fabrics are luxurious, but processed without looking or feeling forced.

Unfortunately he just designs kids collections for girls, not for boys, just like a lot of other brilliant kids brands. Personally I think his man collections are more interesting than his woman collections, so I expect him to be most suitable to do.
 
We will wait for, while drooling his existing collections!
