DIY Hand Illustrated Party Balloons by Anouk van der El from Make History
A quick and easy decor idea to pump up any festive gathering or party!
What you will need:
* coloured balloons that fit your theme
* paint markers (choose colours that will stand out against the balloon)
* optional: Helium (if you would like the balloons to float, alternatively you can tie them to curtain rods or along a string stretched across the corners of a room)
Let's begin!
Step 1: Draw your designs on the balloons.
Step 2: Blow up the balloons/ fill them with helium.
Step 3: As the balloons stretch and fill with air you will notice that your designs become more and more transparent and hard to see.
Step 4: Go over your designs again with the markers to make them more obvious, you can also go ahead and add more designs eg. polka dots, stripes.. or draw outlines of your designs with other colours.
Isn't it easy? Quick and simple so you can spend more time on other crucial details of the party like the ever important catering arrangements.. now off you go to have the time of your lives..
Thank you Anouk for making party decor less of a tedious task!

Make your own surf necklace by Anouk van der El from Make History.
I don't know about you but I'm madly in love with these eye candy marble necklaces (my #1 favourites are these beauties by Zara), handmade from filo clay. On a rainy day, my sons and I started different shapes and ended up making these surf necklaces for cool dudes and equally cool dudettes. Super easy, great for gifts and you can even customise them by stamping a small message or a name on them. Here's how..
What you will need:
* Polymer clay (as many colours as you like)
* Stamps
* ruler or something hard with a straight edge to cut the clay e.g. edge of a file, blunt plastic knife
* satay stick/sushi stick/skewer
Step 1. Pick your favourite colours and mix them as you like. To get the ‘marble effect’ don’t mix them too well as it will become one color again.
Step 2. Roll out the clay until 2-3mm thick.
Step 3. Print out the surf board shapes we prepared for you here and cut out the shape of the surfboard you like. Put it on top of your rolled out clay and cut along the sides to get the preferred shape.
Step 4. Use mini alphabet stamps to stamp a name or little message on the back.
Step 5. Puncture a hole in the top. We used a sushi stick, but you can also use a satay skewer.
Step 6. Bake the clay, pick a nice color thread et voilà!
Thank you Anouk for keeping us cool even in the summer time.

Make your own soccer-themed treats by Anouk van der El from Make History
The world of soccer gained a lot of fans over this World Cup summer and kids are no exception! Surprise your birthday boy or girls and their friends with these soccer themed treats.
What you will need:
* 25 cupcakes
* 3 paper straws
* green paper
* piece of cardboard or peg board
* two different colours for the two teams
* white Posco (or similar) marker
* 25 small straws or small skewers
* roll of double sided tape
* masking tape
Step 1. Bake as many cupcakes as needed for your kid's treats.
Step 2. Stick green paper on cardboard/pegboard.
Step 3. Draw the lines with white marker as shown in picture. We used the tape rolls to create the circles.
Step 4. Use the holes of the pegboard or create holes in he cardboard for the soccer goal and corner flags.
Step 5. Measure the distance between the goal's holes and fold the straw so it fits nicely. At the bottom, once the poles are inserted, make 4 little incisions and fold to the outside so the straws stay in place.
Step 6. Cut the third straw in four small pieces for the corner poles. Make similar incisions at the bottom and fold to the outsides so they stay in place as well.
Step 7. Use a piece of masking tape to create the corner flags.
Step 8. Use this T-shirt printable and cut out the teams' outfits in two different colors. Stick a piece of strong double sided tape on the inside of one t-shirt, stick the straw/skewer on it and stick the second t-shirt on top. Stick the outfit on a cupcake et voila, you're done!
