"For me Christmas is a time to spend quality time together with family and friends; a time to relax, play games and have long conversations over yummy home cooked feasts. I have always lived in the southern hemisphere so in my mind Christmas and summer go together… I know this must sound weird for everyone up north :-) I have very fond memories of Christmas celebrations by the beach when I was a kid.

Every Christmas we try to go back to our home country (Argentina) to spend this special time with our families. But this year we are changing plans and celebrating with some lovely friends here in Australia in a beachside cottage a few hours out of Sydney. We are all really looking forward to some warm and relaxing summer days together!"

"We will be away on holidays at the beach for Christmas. In Australia it is very hot at Christmas…so very different to the white Christmas I used to celebrate as a child growing up in the UK. Christmas to me is a wonderful time for family…spent with loved ones: relaxing, enjoying lovely company and eating beautiful food. I love the weeks leading up to Christmas…baking gingerbreadmen, making decorations, hanging up decorations, shopping for gifts and wrapping presents with brown paper and twine. It really is a magical time!"

"Last month Christchurch was struck by a 7.1 magnitude earthquake and since this event, I've been reminded of how much goodwill people have towards one another and their willingness to lend a helping hand. Kids who've lost their schools have received toys to put a smile back on their faces, families who are now homeless have found shelter through local support, businesses are being rebuilt or relocated with the aid of the public. People are helping complete strangers to get back on their feet. So for me, Christmas this year is not just about family - it's about community. Individuals coming together and supporting one another. Christmas can be a time of depression and sadness for many and sometimes we need reminding that the world is full of people who want to reach out and help when we're in need. Our little family is lucky that we'll be able to celebrate over a barbecue, splashing at the local beach and soaking up the sun and love of close family and friends this Christmas. I can't wait :-) Maddie "

"This year for the first time we are having a very small family Christmas...
My husband is English so most years we have a lot of relatives at our house with makeshift beds in every room...enjoying a ‘summer’ christmas! We will visit my mum this christmas...ride horses...go to the beach...eat fruit and seafood...sleep! Christmas has changed alot for us now our children are older....not so much to do around ‘santa’ ...just relaxing & enjoying our time together! It’s amazing to finally get to a stage when you receive a ‘real’ present from your children....something they have thought about all by themselves..it makes it all worth it!"

"Christmas is by far my favorite holiday: the music, the food and (hopefully) snow.  There are certain traditions I look forward to every year like watching It's A Wonderful Life, enjoying a late and decadent Christmas Eve dinner with dear neighbors, eating streusel right before opening gifts on Christmas morning and playing Trivial Pursuit on Christmas night with friends and family (with good natured cheering and jeering).  I'm looking forward to sharing these experiences with my 2-year-old son and creating new traditions with my own young family in the coming years. *for Babies:  These sweet little moccasins are to die for. I’d prefer the yellow triangles, but think they may be sold out.
*for Girls: This amazing cape! I  think  if I had a little girl, I’d want to borrow it everyday!
*for Boys:  Aviator Hood found at Quirky Collective. (my boys love to play dress up so this would be perfect! But secretly, I want one too. It’s adorable!)
*handmade:  Tessa the Lamb by Bit of Whimsy Prims. I love these quirky and sweet little dolls. Too bad I have no use for them in my home. Great gift though.
*eco-friendly: Baby Bibs
*pure luxury :   Animal Print Lamb for a baby’s room! Oh, I would love to have had this in my boys’ room when they were a baby! The giraffe is cute too, but the lamb???? Nice reminder that they are children of God.
*less than 25:  Food Face Platewhat kiddo doesn’t like playing with their food? Besides, this looks like a ton of fun! I used to love the magnetic harry face.
*less than 50:  Animal Stamp SetMy boys love doing stamps. It’s a mess, but they love it so.
*less than 100: Drum SetI love this drum set. It’s just the right size for both my boys to play with and I have a feeling it would be a ton of fun without being SUPER loud!

"Christmas? Santa Claus, Rudolph and snowflakes… yes, I’m a big kid and Christmas is my favourite time of the year. Having spent my childhood in England, the word Christmas conjures up images of mince pies, carol singers, crackers and turkey. Christmas is a time for celebrating traditions, so important and sadly on the decline. I have lived in the South of France for over twenty years now so French, Provençal traditions very much prevail. Great care is taken in preparing Le Réveillon, in particular. It’s a family affair, we buy oysters, shellfish, local goat’s cheese, bread and fresh fruit and vegetables from the market and enjoy looking for the traditional Treize Desserts (13 desserts).  Christmas? The joy of giving… how I love finding the perfect present, wrapping paper, card and accompanying words. Nothing compares with the smiles of your loved ones on Christmas morning! Christmas is a time for sharing, for thinking of others, for being thankful. It’s a time to reunite, to bring the family together. We try to spend part of our holidays with my side of the family every year, which means trips to England or a house full of English cousins, depending on our arrangements. We have no plans as yet for this December, but I am already looking forward to leaving a glass of milk and a carrot by our fireplace, and, yes, I do so love my Christmas Pud!"
