Gumdrop Boat Cupcake Topper
Place this sweet little boat onto a cupcake frosted with light blue icing that’s been swept into peaks, like choppy water. If you can’t find Fruit Stripe gum, sour belt candy is another great option for the sail, as shown, opposite.

What you will need:
* scissors
* 1 piece of Fruit Stripe gum
* 1 toothpick
* 1 gumdrop
* 1 blue frosted cupcake
* 1 blue cupcake paper (optional)
* 1 eight-inch-long piece of baker's twine (optional)
* 1 gummy ring (optional)

Step 1.Cut the gum into a sail or flag shape.

Step 2.Poke a toothpick into the bottom left side.

Step 3.Poke the other end of the toothpick into the bottom of a gumdrop, which is the boat.

Step 4.Optional: Use scissors to cut wave shapes into the top of the blue cupcake paper and put it under the cupcake.

Step 5.Tie the twine around the gummy ring and poke the other end into the frosting.

Step 6.Put the completed boat onto the frosted top of the cupcake.

Triangle Cake Decoration
These triangular candies could represent trees for a modern Christmas dessert or simply be a graphic cake decoration.

What you will need:
* parchment paper
* 4 Jolly Rancher Bold Fruit
* Smoothie hard candies
* Scissors

Step 1. Preheat the oven to 275°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Step 2. Put the Jolly Ranchers on the parchment in a row to create a tall rectangle. If making more than one at a time, put the candies on individual pieces of parchment, as shown.

Step 3. Place in the oven for 8 to 9 minutes. Remove and let cool for 1 minute.

Step 4. Using oven mitts, take the candy, still on the parchment paper, off the baking sheet, and cut it into a triangle shape (or two smaller triangle shapes) with scissors, cutting through the candy and parchment paper at the same time, as shown.

Step 5. Return to the baking sheet and let cool. Remove the parchment from the triangles.
