I just shared the before and after shots of an apartment we own here in Singapore on Bloesem Living. We have rented out this apartment because with my two little ones growing up quickly we needed abit more space but I would still like to share some pictures of the boys room and some of my favorite items in it.
I wanted to make the room warm by giving it vintage details .. often brand new apartments or homes can feel chilly and cold and bringing in items that are tooo new does not help make the space more cosy and homely so I decided to bring these old items from my youth to make the room more authentic and give it character.
It's fun to show your little ones the toys that you enjoyed playing with when you were their age and it's great to see them having fun with the toys as well. Shows how some things are truly timeless and worth keeping.
Click here to see more of my favorite vintage pieces.. Old is certainly gold.
The art I chose to put up is by Reka Kiraly whom I have loved for the longest time.
If you are interested in seeing how I renovated and gave the entire apartment a face lift, click here to see the before and after.

I just shared a post on Bloesem Living about a design competition in the Netherlands that was organized by a paint company and Dutch furniture designer Piet Hein Eek. One of the 101 winners or named 101 Characters is Maaike from My Deer ... perhaps the name sounds familiar ... we recently featured her in our instagram mommies column.
Just like we love her instagrams so do we love her sense of styling. Aren't these rooms for kids not just perfect? I love the apple green details, it makes such a great alternative for the often used yellow, pink and blue. More pics below the break. Enjoy!
All images by Maaike.

Yeahhh ... I had the honour of sharing our Amsterdam apartment on Remodilista! If you are curious to see what our place looks like click here and visit what I believe is the best online source for interior decoration ideas ....
The table, chair, lamp and metric map are all from thrift stores I visited this summer while being in the Netehrlands ... I love it when you only spend around USD 50.- and be able to make a room look nice! (and if you really wanna know the prices, chair 4.-, desk 10.- lamp 3.50 and the maps were each 8.-) the HEMA baskets in blue were probably the most expensive :):)
Do you ever visit thrift shops? What kind of things do you like to shop for?

Feeling lucky today .... (and so is the Luckyboysunday rabbit to live in such a beaultiful room) ... to be able to share with you some impressions of a gorgeous apartment in Antwerp. My friend and long-time contributor to BKids .... Véronique from Pichouline lives here, well when she is not in Africa that is, decorated this apartment and these nice rooms for her three daughters.
Truly a lady with style who knows how to combine things. Isn't the tipi not just awesome? The pink pockets on the wall are perfect to display smaller items. Confetti garlands , paper pompoms are such simple and affordable ideas to make a room happy and fun for kids.
Enjoy the inspiration today! And if you have a question about a specific item you see in the picture just leave us a comment!

So many nice ideas for a kids room and not always easy to make your choice, but sticking to your gut feel and giving yourself some rules like only add things that you really like, stick with one color as a base like white and try not to bring too many things to a room often works miracles ...
Over at pinterest so much inspiration ... here a small collection i found at Little Baby Company's boards ...
